Privacy Policy

Effective Date: June 22, 2026
Last updated: July 18, 2026

At Britannia-UK we take your privacy seriously. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share personal data when you use:

Together, these are our “Services”.

If you have questions, contact us at contact@britannia-uk.com.

1. Who we are

Britannia-UK is an educational, archival reference project based in the United Kingdom. The Website is an independent numismatic archive and visual coin guide.

Britannia Stack is a related free tool that lets you track silver coin collections, holdings, and optional bulk silver weight. Stack is linked from the Website but hosted separately.

For UK data protection law, we are the data controller for personal data processed through the Services.

2. What this policy covers

This policy covers personal data we process about visitors to the Website and users of Stack.

It does not cover third-party websites you visit via our links (for example eBay, mints, or dealers). Those sites have their own privacy policies.

3. Information we collect

3.1 The Website (britannia-uk.com)

You can browse the Website without creating an account.

We do not run our own newsletter signup or store a mailing list on our own Website servers. We do use third-party tools that may process data as described below.

Analytics and consent tools

  • Google Analytics — anonymous or aggregated site metrics such as traffic, page views, and approximate location, to help us improve the catalogue and understand which collections are popular.

These tools may set cookies or similar technologies. See section 5.

3.2 Britannia Stack (app.britannia-uk.com)

To use Stack you need an account. When you use Stack we process:

Email addressCreate your account; send magic-link sign-in emails
Collection data you enterWhich catalogue coins you mark as owned, quantities, and optional notes tied to those holdings
“Other silver” data you enterOptional bulk weight (oz) and labels for silver not listed in the app
Technical / security dataSession cookies needed to keep you signed in; standard server and security logs (which may include IP address, device/browser type, and timestamps)

We do not ask for payment card details in Stack. Stack does not process purchases or hold wallet balances.

3.3 Information we do not intentionally collect

We do not ask for your real name, address, phone number, or date of birth as part of Stack registration. Please avoid putting sensitive personal information in free-text labels or notes.

4. How we use your data and lawful bases

We use personal data to:

  1. Provide the Services — show the Website; run Stack accounts, sign-in, collection tracking, and portfolio totals.
  2. Send essential account emails — magic-link sign-in messages for Stack (not marketing).
  3. Improve the Website — analytics on britannia-uk.com.
  4. Keep services secure — prevent abuse, debug faults, protect accounts.
  5. Comply with law — where we must keep or disclose information.

Lawful bases (UK GDPR) typically include:

  • Contract / steps to enter a contract — providing Stack when you register and sign in.
  • Legitimate interests — running and securing the Services, understanding Website traffic, and improving content, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
  • Consent — where required for non-essential cookies/advertising-related tools on the Website (managed via our consent tools where shown).
  • Legal obligation — where applicable.

We do not use your Stack email for marketing unless we clearly ask and you opt in in future.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

5.1 Website

Cookies are small files stored on your device. On the Website we (and our partners) may use cookies for analytics, consent management, and affiliate measurement.

You can control cookies through your browser settings and, where shown, through our consent tools. Blocking some cookies may affect site features.

5.2 Stack

Stack uses strictly necessary cookies / local storage to maintain your signed-in session and basic preferences (for example theme). Stack does not use advertising cookies.

Mediavine Grow / advertising consent tools on the Website do not apply inside Stack.

6. Affiliate marketing and external links

The Website and Stack may contain links to third-party sites, including mints, dealers, and marketplaces.

We participate in affiliate programmes, including (without limitation) the eBay Partner Network (EPN), and may also use networks such as Awin and Rakuten Advertising / LinkShare where relevant.

  • When you click an outbound partner link, the affiliate network or its tracking partner may use cookies or similar technology to attribute the visit or purchase.
  • We may earn a commission at no extra cost to you if you buy through those links.
  • We do not control the privacy practices of those third-party sites. Please read their policies before purchasing.

“Find on eBay” links in Stack may include affiliate tracking parameters for the same purpose.

7. Embedded content

Pages on the Website may include embedded content (for example videos, charts, or images from other sites). Embedded content behaves as if you visited the other site directly and may set cookies or collect data according to that third party’s policy.

8. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data.

We use service providers (“processors”) to run the Services. They only process data on our instructions and as needed to provide their service.

For the Website, this may include providers such as:

  • our website host;
  • Google Analytics;
  • Mediavine Grow / related advertising-consent tooling;
  • affiliate networks (when you click tracked links).

For Stack, this includes:

ProviderRole
SupabaseAuthentication and database (email, session-related auth data, holdings, other silver)
VercelApplication hosting and delivery
ResendSending Stack sign-in emails (e.g. from noreply@britannia-uk.com)

These providers may process data in the UK, European Economic Area, or other countries. Where data is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards described in the providers’ terms (such as standard contractual clauses), where required.

We may also disclose data if required by law, or to protect the security and integrity of the Services.

9. How long we keep data

  • Website analytics / consent tools — retained according to those tools’ settings and policies (often in aggregated or pseudonymous form).
  • Stack account and collection data — kept while your account remains active.
  • If you delete your account (or ask us to delete it) — we delete your Stack account and associated collection / other-silver data from the live service. Residual copies may remain briefly in encrypted backups, then drop away on the normal backup cycle, unless we must retain something longer by law.
  • Security logs — kept only as long as reasonably needed for security and diagnostics.

10. Your rights (UK GDPR)

Under UK GDPR you may have the right to:

  • access your personal data;
  • correct inaccurate data;
  • erase data in certain circumstances;
  • restrict or object to certain processing;
  • data portability (where applicable);
  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
  • complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at https://ico.org.uk.

How to exercise your rights

Email contact@britannia-uk.com and tell us whether your request relates to the Website, Stack, or both. For Stack requests, include the email address you registered with.

For Stack account deletion, ask us to delete your account, or use in-app deletion when that feature is available. Deletion removes your login and the collection data tied to that account.

We will respond within the time limits required by law.

11. Children’s privacy

The Services are aimed at adults interested in precious-metal collecting. They are not directed at children. If you believe we have collected personal data from a child, contact us and we will delete it where appropriate.

12. Security

We use reputable providers and technical measures appropriate to a small service (including encrypted connections, access controls, and database security rules for Stack). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; please keep your email account secure, as Stack sign-in links are sent there.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Significant changes may also be highlighted on the Website or in Stack.
